Name: Mouto, Yugi
Age: 16
Gender: Male
Appearance:
The most unusual part of Yugi's physical appearance is his hair. It is spiky and colored ebony black with a magenta/hot pink border and blond bangs. His eyes are a beautiful shade of amethyst and are shaped with an air of innocence. Yugi's height is a 5'0'', and he has a very light build. His clothes consist of a navy blue dog collar with a silver buckle, black muscle shirt, blue jacket, two navy blue belts with silver buckles, blue pants, and black shoes.
Personality: Yugi is a very kind teenager who always puts others before himself. The only downside to this is that he may sometimes put himself in danger to protect the people he cares about. Despite his innocent appearance, he can have perverted thoughts. (But what teenage boy doesn't?) Yugi is the type of boy that can keep control of his temper for the most part. It's only when his friends are being targeted and when he finds something unjust that he'll let his anger show. Despite Yugi's meek appearance, he is incredibly stubborn and can be defiant and strong when he needs to be.
Background: For Yugi's entire life, his home has been with his grandfather, Mouto Sugoroku, at his store, the Kame Game Shop. At a young age, Yugi became friends with Mazaki Anzu and found the Millennium Puzzle. For the next 8 years, he worked hard on trying to solve the puzzle, believing that if he solved it, it would grant his wish. When he was 12 years old, he finally solved the Millennium Puzzle, wishing for friends he could count on and that could count on him. After solving it, he got his wish, making friends with Katsuya Jounouchi and Hirota Honda. However, he also unleashed the dark powers of the Millennium Puzzle, and his adventure began.
The first part of his adventure began when he met Kaiba Seto, head of a company and reigning champion of the card game, Duel Monsters. When Kaiba heard about his grandfather owning one of the rarest cards in Duel Monsters, the Blue-Eyes White Dragon, he immediately wanted it. However, his grandfather refused, and the next day, Kaiba came back and stole the card. Infuriated, Yugi challenged Kaiba to a game of Duel Monsters, and using his grandfather's deck, he defeated Kaiba, making him the new champion.
The next phase took place in the Duelist Kingdom tournament, a tournament based around Duel Monsters. Yugi joined the tournament after the tournament's host, Pegasus J. Crawford, used the powers of his Millennium Eye (which can also be used to read the minds of the opponent at the cost of losing an eye) to steal his grandfather's soul. Through the course of the tournament, Yugi had met new friends, helped his friend, Jounouchi, win the prize money in the tournament to help Jounouchi's little sister, Shizuka, met Ryou Bakura and learned of his Millennium Ring's powers, dueled Kaiba again, defeated Pegasus and saved his grandfather, and finally met the spirit residing inside the Millenium Puzzle for the first time. After the tournament ends, Yugi comes to know the spirit by the name of Yami.
The next key thing to happen in his life was entering the Battle City tournament. Earlier, the spirit of the puzzle, Yami, had been told that in this tournament, he could earn the key to learning the truth about his hidden past. It was the first time that Yugi and the puzzle spirit learned that 5,000 years ago, he had been a pharaoh who had saved the world from destruction. Shortly after entering the Battle City tournament, Yugi learned that it was being held by none other than his rival, Kaiba Seto!
Although the tournament seemed to be a simple gathering of powerful duelists, it was actually planned so Kaiba could try and obtain the three Egyptian God cards, the most powerful cards in Duel Monsters. It was also meant to lure out Ishtar Marik, a man who had tried to steal the Millennium Puzzle a few weeks prior to the event and who owned two of the three Egyptian God cards. Within the first few minutes of the tournament, Yugi learned of Marik and the Millennium Item that he used, the Millennium Rod, which had the power to control the minds of anyone he chose.
In this tournament, Yugi and Yami had to face many different life-or-death duels, one including Marik brainwashing their friend, Jounouchi, and forcing them to duel. The main events that resulted from this tournament had been discovering more about Yami's ancient past, Yugi realizing that one day, he'd have to quit depending on his friends and the powers of the puzzle, winning the tournament, defeating the evil inside of Marik, gaining the three Egyptian God cards, and earning the right to keep the Millennium Tauk and the Millennium Rod.
For the next couple of years, Yugi and his friends got wrapped up in other challenges, ranging from dueling tournaments to battling ancient evils 10,000 years old. The next main event that became another key turning point was when Yami was sent into the world of his memories. With the power of the Millennium Items, Yugi and his friends follow him. In this trial, he and his friends defeated their final enemies, the evil spirit that lived inside the Millennium Ring and Zorc, the lord of darkness, and Yami gained back all of his memories, including his true name, which is Atemu.
After returning from the world of memories, they make their final journey, going to the stone tablet where the Millennium Items were meant to be and where Atemu would have to go to reach his final resting place. During this trip, (after being joined by several of Yugi's friends and his grandfather)Yugi and his friends learn that for Atemu to go to his resting place, he must fight someone in a duel and lose. As they reach their destination, Yugi decides that he'll be the one that duels the Pharaoh. And this is where Yugi's adventures in his world have come to a standstill...
Strengths: Good strategist, can solve problems without using his fists, great focus
Weaknesses: Naive, can't stand violence, absolutely refuses to let friends get hurt for his sake (therefore resulting in difficult situations)
Other: His favorite type of food is hamburgers. Despite being a good strategist, he used to struggle in school. Over the past couple of years, he's become quite nimble. He used to have a crush on Anzu, but he has gotten over it.
