Name: Bakura, Ryou
Age: 15-16 at the begin, 16-17 at the end of the story
(Born September 2)
Gender: Male (or so he says)
(His Japanese voice actors in the Duel Monsters arc were women. Hmmm.)
Appearance:
Personality: Bakura is very polite, and often uses honorifics and polite speech, like using "watashi" (I), which is considered to be polite and used more by women (therefore leading most to consider him as a women, combining this with his looks.) 4Kids represented this with a British accent, which, of course, isn't insulting at all (Singaporean-dub givens him a American-Western accent to represent this, which isn't a oxymoron in the least).
In contrast, Yami (Dark) Bakura uses no honorifics and refers to himself as "ore-sama", "ore" being a guy's way of saying "I", and "sama" being a more respectful way of saying "san" (a uni-sex form of "Mister" or "Misses").
Background: In the Monster World arc, Bakura has a younger sister, Amane, who was killed in a car accident. Bakura has been seen writing letters to her, which has lead to many angst fan fictions on FanFiction.net.
During one of these times, Bakura was finally taken over by his darker half, Yami Bakura, after having touched Yugi's puzzle. This started what came to be known as "The Great Horror-Genre Flood" in the Ryou Bakura category on FanFiction.net.
After almost killing Yugi and his friends in a table RPG, Kazuki Takahasi decided to move on to Duel Monsters, thereby confusing all readers (this wouldn't be the last).
In the Duel Monsters arc, Kazuki Takahasi decides to promote child-abandonment and makes everyone go to a deserted island in the middle of nowhere, where a millionaire mental guy tries to steal Yugi's puzzle through a tournament. Bakura, of course, steals away on the boat and stalks Yugi and Co., thus making hundreds of fan girls turn to the Yugi/Ryou pairing.
Because the Monster World arc was killed, the table RPG game was turned into a Shadow Game on a tree stump, where everyone's souls were sucked out and put into their favorite cards, excluding Yamis Bakura and Yugi.
After Yami Bakura gores Pagasus'' eye out, the Battle City arc starts.
Nothing notable happens except a million fan girls writing Marik/Bakura fan fictions and Ryou almost bleeding to death during a children's card game.
Oh, and him stuffing his face on a blimp.
Go figure.
150+ later, the Millennium World arc begins, but this does not involve Ryou in any way, other than the fact that he goes to a church because he hears voices in his head (anime only), and runs home crying because he was told he was evil by the Millennium Scales.
Strengths: He's very caring, but at the same time, an idiot. He just cares so much that he'll do anything (which most of the time makes the situation worse).
Weaknesses: ...I think his strength is also his weakness...wha'?
Well.
Other: According to the Monster World arc, is good with sharp objects (he makes his own wooden figures for his RPG).
As we all know, so his Yami Bakura.
....Who didn't see this coming?
